In Haiti an estimated 640,000 children under the age of fifteen live in extreme poverty. Most children in Haiti have no shoes and can get sick from the cuts, sores, life threatening diseases and infections they get on their bare feet. The gift of a decent pair of shoes can often be a cause for celebration.
Now through February 20th, Healthy Notions is collecting gently used shoes and funds to help cover shipping and distribution to deliver the shoes to kids in Haiti. With your help…our goal this year is to send over 10,000 pairs of shoes. Please donate $10 or as much as you can to help at www.firstgiving.com/showlovehaiti
It’s a powerful gift that something so simple makes a world of difference in the daily life of little ones and their families. It is our hope and prayer to continually increase these shoe distributions, with each passing year, as the Healthy Notions family continues to grow!
*A list of donation sites within the metro Atlanta area is being compiled. If your company, retail establishment, community service or youth group would like to join the Healthy Notions efforts, please contact Kimberly Whitaker at kwhitaker@healthynotionskidscom.wpcomstaging.com *
